Great caravan park. Owners Sue & Colin are very friendly & welcoming. Amenities are clean & large. Sites are flat, well situated & spacious. Location is perfect with river & shaded seating areas adjoining the park. Ideal location to stay so you drive & see other places of interest on day trips.

We just spent the Easter long weekend here with friends and loved every minute. We originally planned on staying for two nights but enjoyed it so much we stayed for three. We stayed in a cabin and found it very clean, comfortable and priced very reasonably. The grounds are lovely: well taken care of and plenty of space for everyone. Our biggest decision was where to enjoy our wine and cheese, overlooking the river or in the lovely clearing near the cabin. The river was about 30 seconds walk from our cabin and our kids had a great time there fishing and kayaking. Jindabyne is just a short, pretty drive away if you feel the need to get out and about. Sue and Colin were amazing hosts, they were very generous with their time and had plenty of handy tips to make sure we got the most out of our stay. Thanks again to you both - we will definitely be back. Easter
What an absolutely beautiful spot right on the bank of the Snowy River in Dalgety. 45 minutes to the snow and away from all the tourist hussle and bussle. Platypus easily located swimming in the river at dawn and dusk. Sue and Colin are the best hosts you could ask for with great country hospitality, heaps of room in the park which made it easy for us with a huge car trailer. They recommended the local hotel for meals and they weren’t wrong about the quality and the size of the meals. Well worth a look and would be great family spot in the warmer months with swimming in the river right on the doorstop, and only a short drive to the snowfields. Also the cabin was huge and roomy and a lot cheaper than in Jindabyne or the snowfields which makes it so much better in our eyes. Thanks again for such a great stay. We will be back. Room Tip: Extremely homely and roomy family cabins, great for a couple or a family. Snowy River Experience
We stayed one night in January, just passing through. We were greeted warmly and the grounds and amenities were simply immaculate. It is set right next to the river and there is a country pub a few minutes walk away. Snowy River Holiday Park sets a standard many other Australian caravan parks seem unable to achieve. Highly recommended. Mark Mark
Very peaceful park on the banks of the Snowy River. Colin and Sue friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Facilities clean, neat and tidy. Grassy camping sites well maintained. Pub meals fantastic. Highly recommended. Joy Joy
The Snowy River Holiday Park is a fabulous place for motorcycle riders to stay. It’s right in the heart of riding country and the owners are motorcycle friendly. I stayed in a cabin and the park is a welcome rest from Sydney noise. I walked all round the town, which is charming, and never realised it had so much history. The Buckley’s Crossing Pub is a short walk up the road, so I could also get hearty meals too. Highly recommended for clubs and groups. Terri Dodd
Snowy River Holiday Park is a beautiful place to stay. The river is gorgeous and refreshing on hot summer days. The mountain views around are stunning, and Dalgety has such a great rustic charm. Highly recommended place to stay in the Snowy Mountains! Anthony
I’ve been to the park 3 times now. Though it has been 7 yrs between the last time (2007) and the recent one (2014), the place is still lovely and quaint. It’s about an hour away from the snow but I find that given it’s price, I think it is reasonable enough. Sue is also very nice and she makes you feel like you are family. Shalom
The park is immaculate and the powered sites are plentiful and work for both caravans, campers and larger motorhomes. The amenities block, whilst basic, is spotlessly clean and we never had to wait for showers morning or night. They do have cabins and some of these are right at the river which would be delightful. This is a great place to set up camp and just enjoy the surroundings. Sue and Colin, and Cheese the pup are very welcoming and will make your stay very enjoyable. You have 150 metre walk (max) to the banks of the Snowy River, and ditto to the cafe and the pub. The campsites are large and are of lush grass. Persistence will result in sightings of the platypus that reside close by. Dalgety remains peaceful, and not that far away from Jindabyne and Thredbo or Perisher. We did the Mt Kozzie walk on Australia Day, which was great. If you are planning a caravanning trip to the mountains, you should consider this park. You won’t get the crowds or the March flies that you will encounter in other campsites in the region. Cheers Peter. Australia Day Long Weekend
Stayed at Snowy River Holiday Park in heritage town Dalgety NSW. This place is a true diamond. So peaceful and beautiful you recharge the batteries, chill and relax immediately. On the banks of the Snowy River amazingly a minute stroll to the Snowy River and you actually see platypus! Wow! Owners, Sue and Colin, definitely make this holiday park different to most. It’s the small things… home grown scented roses in vases in the amenity blocks, help yourself to herbs and vegies from the garden, always a friendly cheerio - nothing is too much trouble. I stayed in a cabin (Christmas/New Year). Clean, airy, TV, Fridge, WiFi. You have access to both worlds ‘country and city’. Jindabyne and Cooma are close-by (30-40 mins). I’m already planning for my next trip in winter. Room tip – check to see whether the cabin with a deck is free – great to be able to sit and watch the river. Platypus sightings
We have just spent a wonderful 8 days at Snowy River Holiday Park and rate this as one of our best holidays. Swimming in the river, bike riding, beautiful drives, quaint village atmosphere and endearing hosts. A beautiful, relaxed pet friendly park atmosphere combined with Colin and Sue’s first class hospitality have ensured we will definitely return and recommend to all (although this place is one of those secrets you want to keep). Sue and Col were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Their dog Cheese also helped to make the kids welcome wandering up with a soccer ball in his mouth keen to play. The cabin was clean, warm, and fitted out well, the bed was super comfy. Being able to step out on the deck of our cabin and take in the winter serenity and view the Snowy River was a great way to escape from the hustle and bustle. Wandering down to the river we saw platypus swimming in the river! Being only a short drive from Jindabyne and the Ski fields was a real bonus. Would highly recommend this park to families and couples who want to escape and slow down. Room Tip: Ask for the cabin next to the main house. Wonderful place to visit and access the Snow Mountains
Like some of the other reviewers we choose the Snowy River Holiday Park for our skiing weekend because all the inexpensive accommodation in Jindabyne had been booked. I’m pleased it was. Sue and Colin are extremely friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was comfortable and easily satisfied our needs, a warm night’s sleep after a day at Perisher. We will be back. Extreme comfort.
Knowing that the Snowy River held nice trout, I stayed at Snowy River Holiday Park en route to a fishing club outing on the south coast of NSW. The cabin looked newly renovated and was spotless. With the Snowy River just out the back door of the cabin, fly fishing could not be more convenient. Within five minutes of getting on the water at last light I landed a nice twenty eight centimetre brown trout on a dry fly for a photo and release. (See photos in the Photo Gallery) Next morning I spooked a larger fish which later inspected my fly, casually rejected it and cruised off on its fifteen minute beat only to return six or seven times to refuse every fly I presented. I will certainly be staying at Snowy River Holiday Park next time I am on the way to the south coast and have another crack at the “fifteen minute trout”. Lyall Canberra Anglers’ Association Lyall
