All these great places to explore are within 45 minutes of your base at the Snowy River Holiday Park in Dalgety.


The original town was relocated in the 1960’s by the Snowy Mountains Authority, when the Snowy River was dammed. 


A visit to the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre with its interactive displays and interpretive information about the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Authority is a must.


The present day Adaminaby was moved half a century ago for the construction of Lake Eucumbene. The original township is now under water at Old Adaminaby. Adaminaby is also the home of the “Big Trout” as well as the location for the movie “Phar Lap”.


Located in the Southern Monaro, surrounded by lush farming lands and extensive rivers and creeks. In these rivers you will also see platypus especially in the Platypus Sanctuary on the Bombala River within the racecourse reserve.


This historic village once had a corrugated dirt road which linked it to Cooma and the coast. It was three times the size of today’s town and was the centre for local farmers. Today Nimmitabel has a number of boutique shops along the main street and is famous for its old flour mill.


Town is famous for the surrounding boulders that have been shaped and characterized by the weather over millions of years.

As you can see Dalgety is a very good place to base yourself while you venture to see the surrounding towns as well as going to the Mountains whether it be summer or winter there are a number of reasons why you need to stay longer!!!!
